A University of Sunderland open day gives prospective students the chance to explore the University, meet staff and current students, and get a real feel for university life. Visitors can take campus tours led by Student Ambassadors, explore teaching facilities and, if relevant, visit student accommodation. There are opportunities to learn more about individual courses, speak to academic staff and ask questions about what studying at Sunderland is really like. Visitors can also find out more about student finance, scholarships, bursaries and support services.
An open day is also a chance to explore Sunderland itself and consider what it could be like to live and study in the city. Seeing the University and its facilities in person can help students become more familiar with their surroundings, understand what to expect from their course and feel more confident about making the move to university.
