About the event

A University of Salford open day gives prospective students the chance to explore the University, discover more about its courses and experience student life first-hand. Visitors can attend course talks, take part in Q&As with current students, tour the campus and explore accommodation. They can also meet teaching and support staff, ask questions and find out more about student finance, applications and preparing for university.

Attending an open day allows prospective students to experience Salford for themselves and explore facilities across the University’s three campuses. Meeting staff and current students can provide valuable insight into courses and university life, while campus tours and accommodation visits can help visitors picture their future surroundings. The event also offers opportunities to learn more about applications, including UCAS and personal statements. By visiting the University and asking questions in person, prospective students can explore their options, understand what Salford offers and feel more confident about their next steps.

Travel advice

The University offers a travel bursary to help with the cost of attending its Open Days. The amount is based on how far the prospective student is travelling, with five different payment bands available. The minimum amount is £15 for those making a shorter journey, while the maximum contribution is £120 for those travelling from further afield. Payment is made to the prospective student only, rather than to each person attending the event.
